About the Role:
The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for creating next generation analytics, dashboards and reports that support the business in communicating housing economics and reinsurance partner financial positions. On a day-to-day basis, the BI Analyst will join disparate data sources, perform analysis, build and maintain dashboards that visualize complex data to deliver valuable insights that drive business decisions. The BI Analyst will also perform data review, report updates, basic quantitative analysis, quality assurance, and project document editing. This person will support and contribute to the reporting strategy and guide users through the visual transformation via interactive and intuitive visual designs. This work is crucial to the final work product we submit to our clients – we need your passion for user-centered design that makes data easier to understand.
Much of the BI Analyst’s work will be done in manipulating data sets in R and Excel, conducting exploratory analysis and modeling in Excel, and delivering results through user-friendly PowerBI dashboards. Prior mortgage (re)insurance experience is beneficial but not required: we will teach you the key concepts of analyzing and forecasting insurance premium and loss cashflows.
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Professional Qualifications
- Demonstrable quantitative work experience including data visualization, putting together analysis that supports a business pro forma, etc.
- Working knowledge of how macro-economic indicators influence business decisions utilizing statistical techniques such as regression models
- Confident when manipulating large data files in csv format, and analyzing and processing them in SAS, R or Python
- Familiarity with data structure, relational and non-relational databases, big data concepts, cloud computing, open-source tools, and data optimization techniques
- Substantial professional experience using MS Excel (filter, sort, summarize, pivot tables, financial functions, visualization methods)
- Experienced developing dashboards and reporting solutions such as PowerBI or Tableau
- Experience using MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Word

Education Requirements:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field such as statistics, finance, economics, or business (coursework at the collegiate level preferred)

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000, depending on a combination of factors, including but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.

About the Role:
The Actuarial Analyst is responsible for performing analysis on projects related to mortgage insurance and reinsurance, including underwriting, pricing, loss reserving and claims forecasting, program development, and predictive modeling for a diverse client base. Working in a team environment, this role entails creative problem-solving using spreadsheets, databases, and other resources to analyze data and information.
Euclid Mortgage’s Chicago and Bermuda-based locations underwrite and advise on a wide range of Credit Risk Transfer (CRT) opportunities for global reinsurance partners and banks. Our work is supported by a powerful toolkit of analytics software solutions. As innovators in mortgage risk assessment and management, Euclid Mortgage embraces technology and builds renowned data-driven tools that evaluate risk for a wide variety of applications.
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Professional Qualifications
- Perform data analysis using Excel, VBA, SAS, R, and proprietary Euclid programs to assist with consulting for various global reinsurers manage mortgage credit risk
- Participate in consultative activities that include pricing, loss reserving, predictive modeling, product development, financial projections, and capital modeling
- Responsible for reviewing the work of peers and assisting with research projects and business development
- Coordinate with other analysts as a project team to deliver client reports and deliverables
- Responsible for technical work, which may include analyzing data, completing actuarial calculations, developing and utilizing actuarial models, and implementing software solutions
Personal Qualifications
- Experience working with R, SAS, VBA, or other coding languages
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Analytical thinking skills to evaluate analyses for downstream impact
- Ability to complete project-related tasks, meet deadlines, and comply with quality control procedures

Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or another major with quantitative course work
